Renaissance Book
Harlem Renaissance (English Mash-up)
Currently in English class we are learning about harlem renaissance, we would look at the history of harlem renaissance and the art such as music and or any art culture that came out of Harlem. For this small project we had to mash up at least 2 art forms of harlem and make them into 1 original piece. I choose to use 2 poems one by Langston Hughes, and Claude Mckay. These are famous poets from harlem and they helped in the movement of civil rights. These 2 poems focus mainly on America's right and or jus the idea of freedom.
Enjoy the mash up and my analysis of these poems and my artist statement!

- This semester has just been filled with books left to right. I never read so much in my life in my free time I learned throughout this year all of these books were challenging in their own special way. MIndset was probably one of the most challenging text to read and it was so much information rather than a story or anything, mainly a lot of work theories. The books I mainly read this year is psychology books so I read many terms that have to do with the brain and felt personal connections to books like American Sniper and ADHD & Me, these books focus mainly on one person and how they grew with what their challenges are such as Blake's attention span and Chris Kyle’s feelings and mental state with PTSD. By far the most interesting book this year has to be Linchpin, what I found challenging on this book it mentions a lot of history events with examples coming from old business men and many of the story it tells are from either companies that already have a high public name or companies that no one has ever heard of. Overall, I noticed that I would grow as a reader this year and the biggest challenge that I overcame was not being bored while reading which I accomplished.
- This semester was a big challenge for me overall with the fact I never read so much in my entire life. I read 6 books in 1 semester that is super surprising coming from me. Any teacher I’ve ever had would say the same. I’m really proud at my reading level and i'm proud I got an interest in reading in general. I know with the skills I learned this year my reading stamina really went up and I feel I helped my mental state on reading be more fun and the biggest challenge was just finding books i'm interested in.
- My next goal is to be able to read a continues book series that would I would be into, but at the same time it would be challenging and not just interesting. By doing this it will just feel like i'm reading a HUGE book and the more I read the series the better I will get memorizing content throughout the series of the book.
Mash up
Chicano park
This mural is my favorite at Chicano, this mural reprsents a life story through a mural. The reason I like it was the way the story is potrayed in the art piece making it so short to thepoint the story is easy to follow. This mural is very hidden from Chicano Park, yet this mural represents more than a work of art but the life of a man who has been through the uglieness of witnessing deportaion and going to prison.
