The House On Mango Street by Sandra Cisneros is about how a young girl named Esperanza grows throughout the book and is influenced by the people in her neighborhood. We see how insecure Esperanza is at the beginning of the novella and how she is influenced throughout it, and comes out a confident girl. The young girl faces these same challenges that the characters are going through in the story. As if I was the one facing these challenges because it was of Esperanza's perspective. It was easy to understand when she was growing up because of the punctuation and spelling Cisneros used when explaining that younger children do not use very good grammar.
